Housekeeping Specialists is owned and operated by Lera Jo and Mike McDermott. Lera Jo is a Master Housekeeper with a passion for bringing the very best in homes to life. Her skill and experience are extensive and have been recognized in many television and magazine features. Prior to establishing the business in Columbia, we were chosen from a large number of applicants to manage a 35-room, 5-acre estate in Ladue, Missouri, for the relatives of August Busch. Lera Jo was the Head Housekeeper, Social Secretary, and a personal assistant to the lady of the house. Mike performed as the butler, chauffeur, and groundskeeper to the estate. Two years spent there were invaluable in learning how to care for the finest things in great homes; antiques, collectibles, fine woods, fabrics, metals, crystal, as well as the skills needed to prepare a home for significant events. We incorporate this education into our cleaning practices everyday.

We are the only cleaning service in Columbia that are members of the Better Business Bureau and members of the Association of Residential Cleaning Professionals.
